To ensure the best sizing, we recommend that you visit your local Pivot dealer to get a professional fit and refer to our geometry chart to check your measurements. However, we can provide a rough guideline:
Small: 5'3" – 5’8” (160 cm - 172.7 cm)
Medium: 5'8” – 5’11” (172.7 cm - 180.3 cm)
Large: 5’11”– 6’1” (180.3 cm - 185.4 cm)
X-Large: 6'1" + (185.4 cm + )
Yes, internally routed dropper posts are compatible with the LES Singlespeed.
There are limitations that each dropper post has for each frame size based on the rider’s saddle height, so it is important to check the fit before choosing the travel and model of dropper post for your bike. Use the Dropper Fit Guide under the Tech Specs section to help identify the right post length.
The LES Singlespeed uses Boost 148mm x 12mm hub/wheel spacing.
S - 215mm
M - 265mm
L - 295mm
XL - 340mm
*Please check seat post measurements carefully before installing the post.
Yes, this frame can run a traditional geared setup. In addition to a shifter, rear derailleur, cassette and longer chain, you will need a derailleur hanger and cable port caps for the shift cable. Both items can be purchased through your authorized Pivot Dealer.
The LES Singlespeed frame can use an e-type side-swing style front derailleur - Shimano produces the e-type side-swing front derailleur in Deore & SLX for 10-speed drivetrains and XT & XTR for 11-speed, and in new XTR 12 for 12-speed drivetrains.
We recommend tires up to 2.3” wide with (up to) 28mm maximum inner width rims on 29” wheels for the LES Singlespeed. Rim width and tire manufacture sizing call outs and tire inconsistency can result in huge difference among both tire brands and individual tires. We suggest you check the fit with your chosen rim and tire combination to make sure it has proper clearance before riding
The LES Singlespeed is compatible with 29” wheels and 27.5” wheels with Plus sized tires up to 2.8”
Pivot uses a 1.5 thread pitch on the rear thru axle.
The LES Singlespeed will accept all cranks designed for the BOOST system and compatible with a Press Fit 92mm bottom bracket. BOOST system means that the rear hub spacing is 148mm and the chain-rings have (approximately) a 52mm chainline.
You can use non-Boost Race Face Next SL 1x cranks, Shimano XT and XTR 11 speed 1x11 cranks (with 30t or 32t).
The LES Singlespeed uses a Pressfit BB92 (PF92) bottom bracket. All major crank manufacturers and many aftermarket companies make PF92 bottom brackets. However, if you are running a crank with a 30mm diameter spindle (like Race face) we highly recommend using a bottom bracket with a double row bearing design such as our Pivot Enduro BB.
The LES Singlespeed was designed for 100mm to 130mm fork travel. 130mm is the maximum travel length to be used on the LES Singlespeed. We use the new FOX 32 Step Cast 100mm fork in all our complete bike builds. This fork is a 29” race-specific fork designed for 29” wheels with up to 2.3” tires and is NOT compatible with 27.5+ tires.
The Fox 32 100mm Stepcast we spec on all the standard builds has a 44mm offset.
For the LES Singlespeed, we use an integrated style headset. The upper bearing measures 1-1/8" with 45°/45° ACB & has an OD of 41.8mm. The lower bearing measures 1-1/2" with 45°/45° ACB & has an OD of 51.9mm.
No rear brake adapter is needed for a 160mm rotor. If you would like to put a 180mm rotor on, you will need a direct mount post-to-post adapter.
A detailed PDF of the torque specs can be found in the Tech Specs section.
A size medium LES Singlespeed frame weighs just 2.96 lbs (1345.6 g). Pivot bicycles are among the lightest available, but the weight is only one of many factors that make a great bicycle. Other aspects such as frame stiffness, strength, durability, and ride quality are just as important as weight to our engineers when designing our Hollow Core Carbon and aluminum frames. Instead of comparing grams online, we suggest you visit your local Pivot dealer and see our attention to detail, smart, high-value spec, and class-leading features. Bring a scale if you’d like but take just one demo ride and you’ll feel why Pivot Cycles are the most well-rounded, highest performing bicycles on the market and in many cases, yes, it’s the lightest as well.
